Once Upon A Zombie - Zombie Pinocchio and Zombie Prince Charming Prototypes!

I was quite surprised that Once Upon Zombie sold off their prototype dolls of Zombie Pinocchio and Zombie Prince Charming on eBay for $4.99 each!

I think it would be great if OUAZ creates a Zombie Pinocchio doll that is in scale with the rest of the Zombie Princesses. He could be a lot shorter but still with the articulation of the other dolls.

I thought Zombie Prince Charming here was a cosplayer, omg! But it's actually a doll. His face is quite feminine, and his elbow joint looks like an action figure's. I hope they come with a better suit for him. He could be taller than the Zombie Princesses.

They also have other doll prototypes on sale, which makes me curious!

Fairy Tale High prototypes! Who would have thought they planned to make boy dolls for this line too??!

And there's this line called Pop Art Princess that I've never heard of, but it seems so interesting and very current!

I would love to adopt Captain Kitty but I don't have the money, lol!

I dug online even further and checked out trademark names filed by United Trademark Holdings, Inc.. Whether they would make toys out of these names, I have no idea, but it would be cool to see their prototypes!

DIY Doll Books, Toy Boxes, Gadgets, Et Cetera

Wow I made so many paper crafts and I'm not even done. This is what I've done so far:

Some of my miniature books and magazines are shown here, but since the time I posted them, my collection has grown some more. I could probably make a doll library or magazine stand with these, lol. It got to the point that it has become relaxing or therapeutic to make these much, haha.

A miniature Samsung cellphone! It seems one side of the phone isn't that polished yet, but I'll get to that soon.

A miniature iPad! I can only use the front part because the back is just plain cardboard.

Miniature Philippine money! I made it with a front and back design, just like real Peso bills! They're stiff though so they can't be folded, but that's OK.

I also made miniature credit cards, lol.

Miniature toy boxes and toys!

And one of the Halloween masks I made, as shown here.

What I did is I got a free toy store catalog and cut it out. I also had some bank and credit card flyers too (the ones I get with my bank and card statements, or at at the bank when I go visit on a regular basis) with printed gadgets, money, and credit cards on them. I stuck them all on stacked card stock and if I wanted to, I would stick a layer of clear tape on top of the print to make it look glossy.

Here is Lottie posing with some of the items.

I should take photos of my dolls using the books too. I totally forgot to take some.

Doll Fakies

I was at a small toy store and found these dolls. They look good. The brand is called My Sikaly.

I almost bought one because I like the outfits and the doll's face isn't so bad. I don't have this sculpt either.

Then last night I was browsing a Facebook album of a doll seller and learned that these are ripoff versions of the MyScene Icy Bling line.

Let me compare them:

MyScene, My Sikaly, get it?
And isn't it Christina Milian on the box of the My Sikaly dolls? Or someone else?

Now that I've seen the originals, I think I prefer the pink fake doll the most because its outfit is the closest to the original MyScene dolls. But no, I won't buy any of these. I have too many dolls, anyway.

I also saw these at the same toy store.

It's just called Fashion Girl. It totally reminds me of It's A Girl Barbie:

A comparison:

What a poor copy. The sleeves of the bootleg doll aren't even puffy. And a pet dog instead of a teddy bear? LOL.

I still like looking at dolls like these even though they're fake.

Nakoma and Jane

I'm pretty excited to meet my doll-collecting friend again soon because we have a lot of things to exchange with each other. For instance, she recently got these two dolls I bought from an online seller because she also bought from the same seller and they decided to meet up. Here's her photo:

Oh my goodness, it's Nakoma from Pocahontas, and Jane from Tarzan!! If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I've wanted Nakoma for so long! It took me four months of waiting to finally get her!

Ooh and Jane, I actually got her dress first, so having the doll who owns the dress would be fantastic. I think I like her face better than Mattel Belle.

I'm so ready for a body transplant. My friend is giving me her two Liv bodies. Just perfect for my growing Disney-Liv hybrid collection!

I also have other things to get from my friend like three broken Monster High dolls, and I will also give her stuff too like my extra Madeline Hatter head and broken MH body to go with it. Heh, the things we trade with.

By the way, today I kept myself busy with crafting. I'm not yet done, at least for the next few days, so no photos yet.

Color Me Creepy Add-on Pack

Ah! I found a Monster High Create-A-Monster Color Me Creepy add-on pack! It was on sale for P100!

How it was marked down. Read the bottom tag, then the middle, then the top:

The back of the box:

See, I could play with the temperature and make the outfits change colour...

... but I really don't want my doll items to get wet anyway, so nope. I'm keeping the pen and the little acrylic tub because they're cool.

The pack, still attached to the cardboard backing.

I made my customer skeleton face doll wear one of the outfits which is actually my favourite among the two outfits available, because it has net on it.

I still feel that this doll is incomplete, so I'm still going to work on her soon.

Test Makeup Part 2

I am finally able to remove factory doll makeup because I found a nail polish remover that works for me: it's Caronia nail polish remover. I tried it on a Draculaura doll I rerooted a while back and it worked but it took some elbow grease as well. But I also have a bootleg Monster High doll that I've been meaning to repaint, so I also tested it on this doll too.

This bootleg Frankie's head is yellowish compared to her body which is like bone white.

The factory paint easily came off when I used nail polish remover on the doll's face. I noticed right away that the eyebrow paint has really stained the vinyl. It just won't come off completely. Oh well.

After two to three hours, this is what I came up with: a skeleton head. I only used watercolour pencils for this.

I wish I used some acrylic paint and micro brushes, but I didn't have the time and energy for actual painting, so I settled with the pencils. I think the colours would be more vibrant and sharper with acrylic paint, so I will have to consider it next time I do a repaint.

I touched up the bottom of the right eye socket before I took the photo above. I wish I could do more details on the eyes, but I couldn't do so much with just pencils. And my sealant took some of the colour off the doll because of my application by using a makeup sponge. A spray-on sealant is so much better, so I'm on my quest to find Mr. Super Clear.

I was able to hide the eyebrow stains, I think. I applied a bit of white on them then I hid them some more by applying grey and brown.

I think my most favourite out of this project is the hollow nose. The outline of the hole looks more precise than the rest of the outlines I did.

When I get tired of this makeup, I'll just remove it and paint it in a different way. I also want to try "pretty" repaint, not just this Halloween themed makeup. I mean it's forgivable to have stray lines and dirt all over the face, but with pretty princessy kind of makeup, blushing and blending is important. So are neat lines, and attention and patience to small details. There's always room for improvement.

/Oh my goodness, I edited a small image of the one I posted above and blackened the eyes of the doll digitally, and look what happened.

I might keep the face repaint this way and continue work on the rest of the body because of this...
