Daiso Haul

The Daiso store at Trinoma had stock again of the cheap Elly-chan dresses! P10 per fashion! Aah!
I bought all the waitress uniforms and wedding dresses!

Here is a photo:

And here is Maddie modelling the white wedding dress:

I had to pin the back of the dress with paper clip to make it fit her torso. Then I also secured the pearl necklace with rubber band that is also tucked under the paper clip. The white veil is secured by two short hair pins.

I think this is the best Elly-chan fashion pack I've seen yet. It's totally worth the P10 I paid for, haha. Now what can I do about the shoes...

/By the way, I learned how to make my own doll stand thanks to this video.

BarbieStyle Instagram

Mattel combines two things that make BarbieStyle Instagram feed so interesting: travel and fashion. Great doll photography and carefully curated coordinates! What more can I ask for?!

Ricky Syers marionettes and puppets

This is probably the best video I've seen all day:

This man from America named Ricky Syers creates his own marionettes and puppets. This doll in particular is called Chops and Ricky created Chops to be able for him to perform on his homemade drum set. The drum set works!

He has another marionette doll named Stix. He's a funny dude.

And these are his puppets.

It reminds me of It's A Small World. So cute!

Monster High and Ever After High new releases!

Man, what has happened within the week? All those new photo releases from Mattel have made collectors crazy about these doll lines. I'm not even referring to the SDCC exclusives, or the new Freak du Chic or Boo York, Boo York lines of Monster High, or Way Too Wonderland line of Ever After High. I'm talking budget lines, new doll lines, mermaids, centaurs, new characters, 17-inch dolls, the works!!

I'll talk about them later in much detail and with photos because I'm in a hurry, but I want to list them all before I forget!

Monster High:
  • Budget line - no elbow articulation
  • Ghoul's Getaway doll line
  • Great Scarrier Reef doll line
  • 17-inch dolls Frankie Stein, Draculaura and Clawdeen Wolf - probably old news, but still
  • Frightmares
  • I even read somewhere that there's a new two-pack for Slo-Mo and Ghoulia Yelps found in Toys 'R Us Australia.
  • There's also that five-pack with Draculaura looking like a bootleg, hahahahaha.

Ever After High:
  • Budget line - no elbow articulation, sculpted tops
  • Heartstruck C.A. Cupid
  • Royally Ever After Apple White
  • Dragon Games doll line, and with it comes new characters!
  • 17-inch doll Madeline Hatter - so many things are different from the regular doll, and the body is modelled after Monster High

All these happened within a week, I'm serious.

/Adding some new information. They probably didn't come out this week, but it's still new so...

Lottie dolls

I don't like the face and body of Lottie dolls that much, but their outfits are so cute!!
/My opinion of Lottie dolls have changed since then. Lottie is now one of my favourite dolls to photograph.

Autumn Leaves Lottie

Muddy Puddles Lottie

School Days Lottie

These remind me of Licca-chan but they're actually of a shorter built. Still, I can't shake off the feeling that it's a take on the Licca-chan doll. Example:

English Country Garden Lottie

Kindergarten Teacher Licca-chan

I mean, come on now. This can't possibly be a coincidence.

My poor doll

I found my doll custom on this Flickr album. I believe the owner is the program director of the convention? Not sure. I saw him before for a company event at my old workplace and he took photos of us employees and our CEO.

Toycon Philippines 2015 - day 2

His full album of Toy Con Day 2:

I will not join this contest next time because I am not worthy. I mean, look at this. Or this. Dead...

I still have some photos to post from this event. Soon.

Doll clothes haul

I went to Circle C at Congressional Avenue a couple of days ago and thought I'd pass by the toy stores while I'm there. I finally snapped some photos here.

This stall is called Kids Collection and is located at the second floor. This is where I found the bootleg Ever After High dolls. There are actually two types of bootleg EAH dolls. The first type is the one with no articulation on the elbows, wrists and knees. The second type is the one with the Monster High body. I don't recommend either because the hair and the dresses they are wearing are just poorly made.

This is near Kids Collection. The stall is called Vivo Citi and if you look closer inside, you would see glass display cabinets filled with toys. The doll clothes I wanted to check out are actually not in display. You will have to ask the nice lady manning the store to tell you where the bag of doll clothes are. I figured I would just buy tops and bottoms that day.

My haul. I particularly liked the striped halter top because even though it's quite big for the dolls I used for fitting (I think it might fit vintage busty Barbies though), the colours are vibrant and I could actually pull the straps from the neck all the way to the back and tuck them in to make a tight top. Quite a versatile piece.

I also liked the shorts with the pink belt. It's pretty cute. It doesn't fit the Barbies I had because of their wide hips but it did fit my Cinderella doll (Simba Toys).

I picked up the skirt because I thought it's a versatile piece, but as a skirt, it looks off. Maybe I'm tying it around the waist the wrong way? I also tried to make a top out of it, but I didn't like how it looked. It may work as a cape, but why would I need a cape??!

The red underwear set and the yellow halter didn't have a nice fit. I'm quite disappointed.

The black capri pants and fatigue maxi skirt are pretty cool. The pants have a heart design on each side and the maxi skirt is actually a high waist skirt and fits Barbies very well. The blue tank top looks sporty to me. Must be because of the cut and the stretch material used.

I'm not keeping the clothes though. I'm giving them to my niece. This is probably the last time I will buy doll clothes. Next time I'll make them myself.
