The Lotties' Day Out

As promised on a previous post, I'm posting the photos I took for my Lottie Dolls Instagram takeover. I went over my old post again and found that three of my Instagram posts were deleted. I wonder why. I guess the Lottie team didn't like the shot I took at the stairs, and the library shots. I didn't like the library shots that much either, so I'm not posting those anymore.

Some shots I took by our backyard mango tree.

I brought all three Lotties to a country club to relax.

I like this shot because the halls were empty, and I was on my stomach when I took this shot, lol. I didn't care. I just had to get that shot.

Pool side. I didn't bring any swimsuits for the girls, so no swimming.

I think this is the missing shot from the Lottie Dolls Instagram account, but it doesn't bother me that it's missing. I just didn't think it would get deleted, but *shrugs*.

I made Lottie do a cartwheel. It took a little while to make her balance!

So I guess, that's it for this post, lol. I have taken these back in June, so I don't have much to say anymore given that they're not fresh photos. Sorry!

Here's an additional photo, by the way.

It's just a candid shot of Muddy Puddles on my table.

Lottie's World: Extreme Skateboarding

Aha! My first Lottie's World post in such a long while! I finally came up with something!

I was experimenting with the light, so I took more than one shot for this pose.

This is short and sweet, but it took me more than an hour to set this up! It was challenging, but I learned a lot!

Lottie's Trip To Subic

Wow, I haven't updated this blog in more than a month!! I'm so sorry! I've just been busy. I haven't even posted the things I need to post here, but hey let me entertain you with these new ones I took recently.

I went to Subic with my family, and brought along Lottie, Toffee and a new pet, Max!

We were at Ocean Adventure at Subic Bay, Zambales!

Here are Max, Lottie, and Toffee!

We went to Zoobic Safari afterwards to catch the animal show and see more zoo animals, including tigers! That was really fun!

A short performance by the Aetas, the locals of the land.

I didn't take a lot of photos with Lottie because I wanted to spend more time with my family. That's understandable, right??

Rants and Affirmation

I tried making a video earlier about the dolls I need to work on, but I didn't like the outcome of the video and it felt forced. I ended up discarding the file because it took up space on my phone memory. What I gained from doing that video that I never published though is that I learned that I have 19 Monster High dolls to work on. NINETEEN! And that figure doesn't even include the Barbies and the other kinds of dolls in my tub right now.

I'm just really struggling right now when it comes to this hobby. It's not like I lost my interest, because I clearly haven't, judging from the photos I keep on liking on Instagram, lol, but I haven't really done anything that I could consider 'content' on my blog, you know?

Have I mentioned that I went to Toy Con?? Oh wow I haven't even talked about that, have I? OK, I'll post my photos soon! I went there and had low expectation of seeing dolls I like. I only saw one display cabinet from the Pinoy Na Nagmamanyika and it was filled with Wonder Woman dolls, Fashion Royalty and Poppy Parker dolls, and Barbie Model Muse dolls. That was great. The rest of the 1/6 figures I saw were like action figures, and it kind of disappointed me because... why can't we have that kind of convention, am I right? A convention filled with dolls? Why can't we celebrate doll collecting in this country?

I really need to get it together. I'm working on it. I mean, I bought a miniature trash can today. It's actually a pencil eraser, but it's shaped like a trash can so I could definitely use it for a photo. So that's a good sign, right? I haven't touched my sewing machine in months, I just don't have the time to sit down and re-learn to operate it then go on and sew little outfits for my dolls. I'm just not motivated enough, but I haven't lost all hope. I know I can get through this creator's block (A writer can have a writer's block so why can't an artist have one too? LOL). I know I can!

Have you ever felt like this? Like, have you questioned yourself why you are still in this hobby and if it's really worth all the hard work? All I know right now is that I don't want to drop everything and move on. I don't think I've reached that point, so I just don't feel so bad. I just need to push myself, that's all. Cheer up, self!!!

Barbie Book and New Lottie Doll

At a second hand book store, I found this hardbound book! I just had to get it!

It's the Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Exclusives and More by J. Michael Augustyniak. I think this was published in 1997, so I don't see the newer face sculpts in this book. I wonder if I can memorise most of the dolls in this book, hahaha. I was already able to identify the Barbie skirt I have in my collection because of it, so this book did help.

In other news, I found another Barbie doll at a thrift store a while back, and I really like her face. It turns out that it's a Birthstone Barbie for April! She's beautiful!

And I'm getting a new Lottie doll soon! I'm going to talk about her when it finally gets here. I'm so excited!
