Finally seeing the new Bratz 2015 dolls

I finally saw the new Bratz line at my local Toys 'R Us. I examined every doll in the shelf and picked a favourite. For #Selfiesnaps it's still Cloe with her pink hair and pink shoes, but my new favourite would have to Study Abroad Jade to Russia! You have to see her in person to find out how adorable she is!

What drew me in to this doll is her huge ushanka (fur hat with ear flaps), her long black hair, her embroidered top with fringe, and her very long boots! I know, I know, in my previous post about Bratz, I did complain about Bratz's huge and ridiculous looking feet, but Jade's boots just compliment her style here. I just find it really cute.

Ever After High 17 inch Extra Tall Madeline Hatter

I just finished watching Ever After High's Way Too Wonderland and enjoyed it very much so. I love Lizzie Heart's relationship with her mother. I love Apple White being open to following one's heart instead of following blindly what is written in the storybook. I love Raven Queen's ability to use her newfound powers for good instead of evil. And... I love how Madeline Hatter just got taller!

Pre-SDCC, this photo of Maddie as a 17-inch doll was leaked.

At first some people thought this was fake, but I didn't! It just makes sense that Mattel creates a tall doll from Ever After High when they've already released a 17-inch Monster High doll in the form of Gooliope Jellington!

Pros: She's more articulated than the regular doll, just like Gooliope. And it's Maddie, that's always a pro for me! For doll custom makers, she will be easy to handle because there's more working space on her.

Cons: Her body is a Monster High type so she's very slim. Her outfit seems to be less detailed which is a bit of a downer because part of her regular doll's charm is how much detail is packed in a small doll body (Maddie is actually of a smaller built than the other Ever After High dolls). Her stockings are painted on, I think. And in the story, she is a little shorter than this. She doesn't tower over the boys THAT MUCH, but whatever. 

I wait for the day that fans can get ahold of her so I can see their reviews and live vicariously through them, haha.

Zombie Snow White and Zombie Jasmine?

It's a photo of Zombie Princess dolls from Shiner Toys. As mentioned in an older post, these dolls are bootlegs of the Once Upon A Zombie dolls. What surprised me about this photo is Zombie Snow White's outfit, and the doll on her left which seems to be Zombie Jasmine (Aladdin). Zombie Snow White doesn't have a similar outfit to her OUAZ counterpart but to the human Disney version, and Zombie Jasmine, well there is no Once Upon A Zombie doll for her because Jasmine is a Disney character and not based on a book.

If you know how the other Zombie Princess dolls look like and look closely at Zombie Jasmine, you will notice that she has the same faceup as Zombie Belle (Beauty and The Beast).

I've never seen these two dolls in person, but maybe I would have paid more attention to Zombie Snow White if she was indeed wearing this dress instead of the OUAZ copy.

Lalaloopy Girls Peanut Big Top Doll

I don't like Lalaloopsy Girls that much but I thought this doll is eye-catching for me. I think it must be the clothes.

I find the combination of the jacket and the skirt just adorable. It reminds me so much of Monster High's resident carnival ghoul, Gooliope Jellington because Gooliope grew up in a circus. I bet she would look cute in this kind of outfit, too!

Takara Jenny clothes haul

I got these doll clothes from the seller I usually visit at Vivo City! My favourite at the moment:

This orange dress with red lace and gold necklace! So adorable! And remind me to fix my Jenny's hair. It's becoming wild again, haha.

Behind her is a London double decker bus decor which I bought online from a seller on Multiply.com years ago. It's made of tin, and unfortunately it's not of 1:6 scale. (This 1:6 ratio thing, I still do not know why it is so, but I will look for an explanation online.)

A white jacket with blue lining and white fringes, and a glittery pink halter top with lace hem and heart pearl detail. Too bad that when I was fitting the clothes, the hook of the jacket snagged on the pink top so if you look closely at the photo, there is a bunch of shiny pink thread on the surface.

I got everything for P100. I will go back and check out the rest of the clothes I didn't get. I was in a hurry and thinking of my budget at the time so I only picked 3 items.

Bratz 2015 Selfie Snaps Yasmin and Cloe

I finally saw the new Bratz dolls in-store and they're cute! (But nope, I didn't buy them.)

I only saw Yasmin and Cloe.

Here's Yasmin:

I have to say, in the box the bird bag really stood out for me. It is so cute! Next are Yasmin's feet/shoes. Bratz dolls have pegged feet, and I really don't like that because if you lost the shoes, you end up with the doll having no feet and it's just inconvenient. Anyway, Yasmin's feet look so big! This doll truly has an odd body proportion.

Here's Cloe:

Cloe's really cute here. I love the pink hair and I think her faceup is adorable. I see a lot of old Bratz dolls in this thrift store I go to and they all have their lips lined with a colour that is different from their lipstick shade, and that's just... how do I say this... chola style? It just doesn't work for me.

Her eyeglasses? Love it. It's so cute. I wish to see her wearing it, but of course I can't try it on her, haha.

Her boots are adorable, too. Never mind that that they are oversized. I just look at her shoes as chunky platforms. At least her feet are "hidden" and I can still imagine them being regular sized unlike Yasmin's feet.

These dolls have so many accessories. It's such a shame that Monster High dolls don't come with as much accessories. 

Monster High budget dolls

If you recall, I referred to this Monster High budget doll line on this post back in June. This photo was released pre-SDCC and I read a lot of mixed reaction online regarding this upcoming line. Here's the leaked photo:

What makes them different from the current Monster High dolls? I think it would be their elbow and wrist articulation. These dolls are posed with their arms and hands on their side. It reminds me of the budget Barbie dolls sold in toy stores nowadays, but these dolls have knee articulation so it's not that bad.

Pros: It would definitely be cheaper than the regular Monster High dolls. I also think they can withstand child's play much longer because their arms can't be broken easily. The dolls are also wearing cute fashionable outfits that would be good for sharing with regular Monster High dolls. Also if you are a beginner in doll customisation, these dolls are a much cheaper alternative for practicing.

Cons: Of course it's less fun to play with dolls with unarticulated arms because the range of movement is more limited. It will be less enjoyable to display or photograph them because you can't pose them very well. But I think that's the only flaw that can be seen by discerning Monster High doll collectors. But for kids who just want to have at least one Monster High doll, this is such a great idea!

Overall I think this is a fun addition to the Monster High enterprise.

There's no further update yet when these dolls will be released, but I wait for the day they hit my local toy stores.
