Rhian and Curvy

My friend and I met recently, and at the time I unboxed my Spring Into Style Curvy Barbie. My friend examined my doll and thought, she looks familiar... Then she said, "She looks like Rhian Ramos." Rhian Ramos is a local actress here, and I could see the similarity.

I chose this photo of Rhian because her hair is kept together on one side, just like Curvy Barbie here.

I like my Curvy Barbie. I think I'll start calling her Rhian, heh.

... And Another Incident

OK, so an online seller invited me to join a Monster High and Ever After High Facebook group, and I'm like, not again... but maybe it's fine after two times of being alienated from my previous groups.

Today I shared these photos I took at the mall:

So I shared these two things, and someone even liked my post. But now I went back to the group and my posts are gone? What the heck. But other new posts are still available. What the double heck. What did I even do this time? I stayed on topic, I was sharing information like the other people. These are even my own photos that I'm sharing without any concerns about copyright or whatever, and this is what I get in return. I checked the admins and moderators of the group, and I have a feeling it's one of the moderators who removed the post because of their abrasive personality, but there's no need for me to point fingers anymore because I was then ready to leave the group.

I'm done. I'm so done with Monster High and Ever After High Facebook groups. I'm so done.

/I talked to the administrator of the group. It turns out their moderators don't even know what "double posting" means because they thought I was double posting, lmao. Just because they already know about the reboot dolls and the marked down dolls, and somebody made similar posts about those topics as well, it doesn't mean that my posts are duplicates. Redundant? To them, yes. Duplicates? No. And my age was even asked. Um, what does my age have to do with incompetent group moderating? They must have thought I raised this concern because I'm a child. Right... this coming from twenty-something people who took up moderating roles but did not even know what double posting actually means until today. Try to make sense of that. /rant

Update on Li'l Pinkie's Ears

I read up on the drying time of Dohvinci and found an answer here:

If the compound still feels soft or wet then it is possible that environmental factors including humidity or the thickness of the application of the DOHVINCI compound may be affecting the drying time for your design to achieve the spongy or dry quality. However, you can display your finished projects as soon as you're done designing! Unless purposefully removed by hand or with a tool, the compound will stick on the surface as it dries.

I'm actually observing how the Dohvinci dries up on Li'l Pinkie's head and I have to say, it's not looking good.

The swirls on her head have become less defined. The doh has become sticky and not hardened. One time I accidentally touched the doh and it's still soft.

I don't even know how long I have to wait. It's been more than a day, and I could see a speck of glitter that stuck to the doh. The glitter most likely came from Elsa's skirt, and we do know that glitter transfers on things like crazy.

I can't say much about the lasting colour of the doh right now. I mean, I used white. Of course it's bound to get dirty while it's still not dry. But I do hope it remains white until it's dry, and not grey.

This DohVinci stuff is testing my patience, haha. Is waiting fun for kids? No. For adults? It depends, I guess. I'm not getting positive results along the way so this is quite tough.

If DohVinci doesn't work out, I'll probably use the doll hair I was talking about earlier, or yarn. I just want to complete Li'l Pinkie soon. She actually looks cool next to my The Secret Life of Pets toys from McDonald's Happy Meal. A photo of them soon!

Excited About Chloe Grace Moretz as The Little Mermaid

OK, so with the current trend of Disney classic movies being turned into live action movies comes the dolly merchandise. So when I heard about Chloe Grace Moretz being cast as the lead in the upcoming The Little Mermaid live action movie, these came into my mind:

1. "Hit Girl is now a mermaid!"
2. "Hit Girl is now a mermaid!"
3. "Hit Girl is now a mermaid!"
4. "Hit Girl is now a mermaid!"
5. "Hit Girl is now a mermaid!"

The thing is I should be thinking about it the other way around: The mermaid is now Hit Girl. That's because I'm anticipating a Little Mermaid doll made in the likeness of Chloe Moretz. If you've been reading my blog, you would know how much I like Hit Girl from Kick-Ass. I even made my first custom doll as Hit Girl. Now I think 2017 would be best time to make a custom fashion doll of Hit Girl. You've got the Little Mermaid movie coming out next year, and with the movie comes the dolls. Get a Chloe doll, behead the poor thing, reroot her hair from whatever colour they'd choose her hair to be in the movie to purple, style her hair short with bangs, transfer her head to a Barbie Made To Move body, and dress her up in custom Hit Girl bodysuit. Wouldn't it be neat, short plaid skirt and all?

I mean, fine, Chloe has a custom head sculpt offered by Kumik Toys, but their sculpt looks more like Avril Lavigne to me than Chloe. And I believe this sculpt would not be as accessible as a mass-produced Disney doll with Chloe's face on it.

I'm already excited when the movie is far from being finished! Beauty and The Beast isn't even released yet, lol! Get on it, Jakks Pacific!

DC Super Hero Girls Dolls Coming To Manila Soon?

I just saw this post from Richwell Club, which distributes Barbie here in the Philippines.

I'm excited to see the dolls at my local toy store when they finally arrive! I want to see Harley Quinn, Batwoman and Poison Ivy in person.

Making Ears for Li'l Pinkie

I have a Pinkie Cooper doll, and I bought her naked and without ears, er, wigs, er wig ears. I managed to complete her look by adding a Monster High wig on her. She looks fine now so I don't need to work on her. However, on a different occasion, I was able to thrift her pet, which happens to be called Li'l Pinkie. Like Pinkie, Li'l Pinkie has detachable ears/wigs, but the pet I found didn't come with any at all.

I wasn't able to take photos of her when I got her. Oops. When I brought her home, I was thinking of ways to complete her. Like, perhaps attaching some doll hair on her head. I thought of using the blonde hair that I cut off a Bratz Babyz doll and which I photographed here, but I couldn't settle with a method of putting the hair in place. For a long while, I've just secured the bundled hair around Li'l Pinkie's head with a clear loom band.

Tonight I decided to work on her using DohVinci. Here is Li'l Pinkie with her DohVinci ears.

I am waiting for the DohVinci to dry up. It would probably take days because I applied it quite thick, but it's part of the plan: wait for it to dry, add another layer, wait for it to dry, add another layer, repeat... basically just build up Li'l Pinkie's puffy ears. I made her ears swirly, heh.

I haven't experimented on what else I could do with DohVinci, but if this turns out well, I might stock up on it because DohVinci is on clearance at the toy store, and I could get loads of refills while it's still available. DohVinci is really soft; I think it's much softer than Play-Doh, and it has an applicator called a styler which is convenient because I don't have to keep touching the doh with my fingers all the time. I actually saw a styler at the thrift store way before I bought a DohVinci set, but I wasn't interested at the time and didn't think it would come in handy. I kinda regret not getting it because I could just buy refill packs afterwards instead of buying a new kit, but oh well. What's done is done, or rather what was not done is... oh you get it. LOL.

Now I wonder if after this project, the DohVinci ears would become removable. I would love it to become removable so that I could make more DohVinci ears for Li'l Pinkie in different colours. Li'l Pinkie is, after all, owned by a fashionable jetsetter, Pinkie Cooper.

I'm Letting Elsa Go

Ok, cheesy title, but I found Disney Store Elsa at a thrift store for P150. I just had to "rescue" her.

I forgot to swipe off the crumbs next to her, haha. Sorry!

I think she's complete! Doll, dress, shoes!

Her hair is a mess and needs restyling.

Her dress is torn at the back. As you can see it, it came off the stitch between the sheer and blue fabric.

OK, so I already have a Mattel Elsa, and I'm really satisfied with her. I don't need Disney Store Elsa, but I think my friend does because she just bought a secondhand and nude Disney Store Anna with bad hair. I thought if I pass DS Elsa to her, she might say yes. And she did!

So I don't have to clean her up and restyle her hair. My friend agreed to do that. Whew! I'm glad she did because her dress leaves a glitter trail every time I touch it. I stored Elsa in a plastic bag now and has put her aside in a box where I keep the other things I'm going to give to my friend.

Decluttering time!

I'm also giving my friend a set of doll hair brushes for free. I got most of these from a lot of toys. I wanted the other things from the lot, but not these brushes, because I have enough for myself. I mean, I own some Monster High and Ever After High brushes which I barely use, a Liv brush (the one I like the most) and even a Winx Club brush I thrifted because the handle has wings at the end of it, haha! I also have a glow in the dark brush just like that wide pink brush at the far right of the photo which I got from my bootleg Zombie Rapunzel. Plus I like my dog brush a lot. I use it frequently together with my Liv brush. So yep, I don't need more doll hair brushes.

My friend is coming up with a doll sale for her neighbours though, so I thought those doll brushes will come in handy for her. She can include the brushes as freebies.

Also I'm giving her this baby doll chair I thrifted a while back. I thought I could modify it into an adult doll chair, but it just looks off to me. I never got around to using it, but my friend might find it useful because she bought a secondhand "4 Ever Best Friends" doll that I think could fit in here just fine.

This doll chair is called Amanda Jane. I don't know this doll.

The chair is made of hard plastic and a metal stand, with a padded cushion and rubbery belt to secure the doll in place.

The chair can be reclined.

The height of the chair is adjustable, as you can see by the three notches on the side of the chair.

My friend is still waiting for a package, which has dolls we both purchased. We're going to meet up soon, and I'm going to get my dolls from her and that excites me. I am also giving her the doll clothes and toys I bought on her behalf, and I've added other things in her goody bag. I'm really looking forward to meeting her so we could catch up on each other's life and stuff.
