Photos from Toy Con 2017

Hahaha finally! I found the motivation to post some of my photos from Toy Con last year. Toy Con 2018 is coming up in a few months, so I figured I better post these before June. These all got jumbled up, but I don't want to complain too much now, haha.

Power Rangers stuff. I have the red ranger. It's pretty awesome.

A schoolmate from my old university was at the panel discussion.

Wonder Woman booth. I won a poster!

The Joker from Suicide Squad. This is really a good action figure.

Venom. The details on this statue are fascinating.

Dark Phoenix from the X-men.

The Wonder Woman movie poster I won. It's huge!!!

Harley Quinn from The Suicide Squad.

Harley Quinn, bishounen style.

Harley Quinn in a jester outfit.

I really liked this statue of Iron Man.

Ghost Rider. I haven't seen the movie.

Harley Quinn from Arkham Asylum

Annabelle from Annabelle: Creation. This is quite a memorable photo for me because... reasons. Heh.

Jigsaw from the Saw movies

Voltron?

Why are Spidey's pants pulled down? Is that normal?

The Wonder Woman doll collection. So cool!

Yoda from Star Wars. I'm not really a fan of Star Wars; my friend is.

Fashion Royalty dolls. I still don't know the difference between FR1 and FR2 bodies, lol.

Edward Scissorhands.

The Suicide Squad couple: Harley Quinn and The Joker

There were other photos I took but I'm just not in the mood anymore to post them all. I do look forward to Toy Con 2018 so I could take photos, look around and enjoy!

Toy Con 2016

I just found out that this year's Toy Con will be held from June 10-12 at SMX Convention Center Halls 1-4. I knew it's going to be at the Mall of Asia area last year because the organiser said it at the event back then.

I don't know if I'll attend this one because I live far from this place, so I'll have to see the events lined up for each day and figure it out. Kinda skeptic, to be honest, because I think I'm already set with all the toys I have at the moment. :-/

Thrifting Haul, and Figure Modification

I went thrifting again, but I bought these from two different places I don't go to on a regular basis.

5 things. One of them is not toy-related.

A low doll chair for P20. (I learned that this is a Licca-chan chair.)

A Panda daruma doll for P20. I fixed the eyes because it was already drawn on with a marker. I also patched some of the stains with correction fluid.

I've never had a daruma doll with this kind of design so this is pretty cool.

A metal bookend for P20.

A Pepsi figure for P20. I forgot who she is but her name is definitely labeled underneath the cap.

A Queen Amidala Pepsi bottle cap for P20. I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I have some Star Wars pen toppers from cereals I ate, and an R2D2 chip clip, so I thought it won't hurt to add another small item to my collection.

These do not belong to my latest thrifting haul, but both of these are thrifted from a Japanese surplus shop I used to go to. I never came back to that place anymore because it's filled with dust, and the rest of the things they are selling there seem to be rubbish. I think I bought these for P35 each.

'Kitbashed'. Is that the correct term? No?

The body. The skirt can be removed, and when it is, you can see the figure in her panties.

I found the original figure at Toy Con.

I can't identify who she is.

The head.

I stuffed black foam in there to make the attachment snug, but I still wasn't satisfied with this.

When I bought the Pepsi figure, I thought I could use the blond girl's head on the body instead.

This should be interesting.

I pulled the pieces apart. I didn't even think they came in separate pieces.

I removed the neck piece from the head, then carved a hole with a craft knife. Then I glued the head to the body using contact cement.

I think I messed up a little because I used this cheap shoe glue too and it kind of melted the paint. And contact cement is quite gooey when still wet, so it didn't help the situation.

I'm still waiting for the glue to dry. I don't feel so bad about the mess in the neck. It's such a minute detail anyway.

Original figure vs. my modified figure.

Toy Con gallery

Some of the photos I took on my phone while I was at Toy Con 2015. Long overdue post, I know, but it's not like you were waiting for it anyway, LOL:

Ever After High dolls. I couldn't see Cerise clearly at the back from my view.

Are these called Fashion Royalty dolls? I just know they're from Integrity Toys but I have a difficulty figuring out the differences among their lines.

Barbie dolls in custom dresses?

There are the Cinderella dolls on top of the display case.

DC Comics dolls.

Sailor Moon figures. I couldn't get a good view of them. Stupid velvet rope.

Robots collection.

Comic book dolls. There's even a sentai doll in the middle.

Asian ball-jointed dolls. I don't know what they're called. Too pale for my taste.

Pullip and Dal dolls, I think.

Betty Boop doll from a Coca-Cola collection showcase.

Coca-Cola themed Barbie.

I don't know what kind of dolls these are. I'm guessing it's Madame Alexander.

Coca-cola diorama with a Jenny doll. But there's a miniature Pepsi bottle on her cart, haha. That Pepsi bottle is a figure from a bottle cap.

Thundercats dolls.

More Thundercats stuff.

Pretty Cure figures.

These expensive as heck dolls that are very posable.

Wow.

Then I went back to the sentai doll and took a photo of it because I want to see how the suit was made.
