A Photo Dump! [Part 11]

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago.

Oh new blind bags from Playmobil. I heard on YouTube that they are quite difficult to assemble at times.

Shopkins food fair blind... cookie jars?

Sour Flush toilet candy.

I'm not sure if this is 1:6 scale. It might work?

I bought a DohVinci pack for P200 because I was curious about the airdry playdoh. I have no use for that peace sigh frame thing so I kept it in its packaging, haha.

I wanted to make doll shoes with DohVinci but my first attempt was a fail. I think I'll be more successful with just plain bathroom tissue paper and water or water/glue mixture. DohVinci is fun though. I'll think of something so I can still use it.

My Daruma doll collection so far. It's not much, but it's fun to collect these because they even don't cost that much when bought secondhand.

Gumby and Little Gumby on his shoulder! These two Gumbies don't look the same though, have you noticed?

My Hiragana fridge magnets, which is not complete, and a movie fridge magnet I won as a prize.

I found the Hiragana magnets from a Japanese thrift store. If you could read the first two lines on there, you can find Nonde kudasai which means Please drink, and Yaseru, which means to lose weight, haha. I was only able to come up with those things given the limited number of magnets available to me.

I also have a collection of magnets, mainly magnets from different countries, not in photo.

Rocket and Groot in one photo, finally! They are not of the same scale, but hey, Groot is very small in the upcoming movie sequel, okay!

I took a photo of budget Raven Queen because I didn't see her when I took these photos. There are actually more Ever After High dolls available locally now, like the book party dolls, the Dragon Games dolls including the forest pixies, and I even saw extra tall Madeline Hatter! I don't like this doll version of Madeline though because her hair looks so greasy and flat.

The new My Little Pony Equestria Girls minis are out, too. To me they are more adorable than the dolls, haha.

I found this brochure of Brother sewing products at the book store.

I wonder when I can have my own sewing machine. Their cheapest machine costs around P10,000.00. Sigh.

I bought a cheap Vespa scooter for P25. It looks promising.

I took this while waiting at the car wash.

It says on the back that there is assembly required. This is not true. Maybe the original scooter needs assembly, but not this cheap Vespa!

Look, I can even flip the top of the seat up, and the stand at the rear wheel also works! I didn't need to use the mini screw driver or the extra wheels for it. It's good to go as it is!

It lacks a lot of detailed painting, but I'm OK with it. Sadly this is not 1:6 scale. More like 1:12 but I'm pretty pleased with this miniature scooter!

Barbie Made to Move dolls in the Philippines, and Other Toy Store updates

Barbie Made to Move dolls are finally here! (There's Teresa, Barbie and Lea, but no Asha.)

I found these at SM North department store and Toy Kingdom, SM The Block. The saleslady at SM North told me they just arrived yesterday.

Sold at P999.75 each, these are more reasonably priced than what online sellers of this doll line ask for. Like, I've seen one seller sell this at P1800. RIDICULOUS!

There are other new dolls on the shelves, such as the Endless Hair line and a new line of mermaids, which have too much purple and pink going on that it makes me puke rainbows (not really haha). There are also the new Barbie entry level dolls priced at P449.75 that come in three new basic dresses, and I remember that one of them has the Lea face sculpt.

SM also has those new Barbie dolls in uniforms. Not sure if they're called Barbie I Can Be but I didn't see that tag line on the boxes.

There's even a chef and a pilot, I think. They are priced at P999.75. If you ask me, it's better to get the Made To Move doll, then look for a Barbie I Can Be career fashion pack if it's accessible. Sure, it's going to be much more expensive, but you get a posable doll instead of this stiff one.

In other news, at SM North, the Disney Descendants dolls have been reduced to one-fourth of a toy shelf. It is now displayed on a lower shelf of the My Little Pony Equestria Dolls display which kind of implies that SM is not restocking them any time soon. I wish they were on clearance if they're really going be to let go. Meanwhile, the Hasbro Disney dolls are on a roll because I saw new play sets like Elsa's canopy bed, Cinderella's vanity dresser with a dress form and extra dress, and Belle's table for tea time. The colour of Elsa's canopy bed is pretty cool because it gradually blends from blue to purple.

Elsa's icicle canopy bed

I didn't see the Shopkins Shoppies dolls at Toy Kingdom, but I did at Toys R Us. Maybe the Shoppies dolls are exclusive to TRU then??

Also the new Batman vs Superman dolls from Jakks Pacific came in yesterday too. I didn't manage to photograph those because my phone battery has gone low. There's Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman in different sizes. The biggest, I believe, is 19 inches. The size is a bit overwhelming, to be honest, specially when I picked up Wonderwoman to examine it, but I think I'd appreciate her more if her clothes are actually made of fabric, not sculpted, but alas, that is not the case.

Disney Descendants pulled out from Toy Kingdom and Toys R Us?

It seems that Disney Descendants have been pulled out from our local toy stores, perhaps due to the arrival of the Hasbro Disney princesses. I'm not sure why that happened when both doll lines are made by Hasbro and their themes compliment each other (princesses and their descendants)..

To be honest, I actually saw two or three Jane dolls next to the Hasbro Disney princesses, with the original price, but that's about it. The other dolls went missing, so I consider this line pulled out even though I still saw Jane. That's odd because Disney Descendants has more new dolls coming this year, specially since they are shown at Toy Fair 2016 in New York City. There is the Genie Chic line which has been out for a while in the US. There is also that Neon Lights line where the main dolls plus new ones are wearing neon or brightly coloured outfits. There are even new dolls coming up like the daughter of Captain Hook and daughter of Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

I'm not in touch with cable TV programming here, but perhaps the Disney Descendants show here in the Philippines is not a hit? Is that a possible reason?

Meanwhile, there are so many My Little Pony Equestria Girls doll (also by Hasbro) on sale here. Why didn't they just put those Disney Descendants dolls on sale first???

Not pulled out, but stock is really running low.

New Hasbro Disney princesses dolls

Finally had the chance to take photos of the dolls.

Disney princesses with removable dresses: Jasmine, Snow White, Rapunzel, Belle, Merida, Pocahontas, Aurora, Tiana, Mulan. Ariel is not in the photo.
Disney princesses with sculpted tops: Ariel, Snow White, Belle.

The Frozen collection has a separate aisle:

Frozen Anna, Frozen Elsa, Frozen Fever Elsa, Olaf and snowgies set, Anna and Kristoff two-pack.
Not in photo: Frozen Fever Anna.

Frozen Anna. She looks so young, but that's totally fine with me.

Pocahontas. She's so pretty. She's my favourite now.

At the hypermarket, I found Frozen Fever Anna. Still cute. I think her hair just comes in a bun and doesn't have the braids around it, but that's OK.

And the elusive Ariel doll. There's also the Ariel Bubble Tiara doll at a different toy store but I didn't take a photo of it anymore.

There's a nice display of these dolls at Toy Kingdom in SM Mall of Asia, by the way. Some of them are displayed out of the box but still behind a case so I can see them really up close without the distraction of the packaging. Jasmine's shoes are amazing.

Speaking of Hasbro, My Little Pony Equestria Girls dolls have been on sale for a while. I don't want to get any, but if you plan to buy at least two for a good price, then choose this two-pack.

It's the two-pack of Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze.

Sure, these are two of the villains in the series but you'll just pay P600 for two dolls. Compared to the single boxed dolls you can get for P350, this is a little cheaper because that's P300 per doll. And I think Sonata (with the pink top) is cute.

Here's a display of the Equestria Girls dolls in a department store, by the way.

Applejack up close.

I took these photos because they are on a white stand that is placed between their legs. I want to make some for my own dolls.

Twilight Sparkle doll and Fun with Photobooth

I got this nude Twilight Sparkle at the thrift store and already forgot how much she cost me. P100? P150? (She's not nude in the following photos anymore.)

She's supposed to be a singing doll but her battery has run low, I guess. And her right hand is perpetually in that pose, it's quite annoying.

I had a spare Twilight Sparkle dress (not in photo) but I just thought it looked ugly on her so I removed it.

Instead, I made her wear Winx Club Flora's two-piece outfit. I had to use a small clothespin to gather the skirt at the back.

She's also wearing a pair of cheap plastic shoes that came in a pack. This type of shoe fits many dolls because it opens in half!

I used my Photobooth to take morphed photos of her and I thought it didn't do so much on distorting her face in the photos because she's a weird looking doll anyway.

More Photobooth photos with background scenes this time. I didn't like the one with the clouds. It looked the worst.

Twilight's hair needs a boil wash because it's just wild at this moment for now she can stay this way, a hot rainbow mess, because her hair still smells good from the first wash I gave her.

I finally saw the My Little Pony Equestria Girls the movie and the Rainbow Rocks one. I haven't seen Friendship Games but I think I've seen enough. It's a fun movie for youngsters. I was actually entertained myself, but I think I feel that the characters in the movie look so much better than their doll counterparts. The new Equestria Girls minis Hasbro released look more like the cartoons than the dolls. I wish they make the necessary steps to make the look of both the dolls and minis more consistent. I mean, take a gander here: http://equestriagirls.hasbro.com/en-us/toys-games.
