A Photo Dump! [Part 12]

Oh my, it's been a while since my last post. Please forgive me.

My brother sent me these photos of Monchhichis at Hong KOng. I don't collect Monchhichis, but they look cute.

Here are additional photos from the doll pool party I hosted. I haven't posted my photos yet, but they will be on my next post. These images were all taken by my friend.

I love the pool floats I got at the mall.

This is my friend's child, by the way. And I gave them a Kung Fu panda toy. He played with it in the pool.

Now here is a set of 3D puzzles that I bought at a thrift store. It was marked down really low because nobody wanted it. I did assemble the pieces but it was missing one sheet. That's all right.

I haven't taken photos of the puzzles yet because they take so much space when displayed, so I stuffed them all in a paper bag, in the mean time. I might have to fix some of the puzzles when I finally take them out of the bag.

A trip to Daiso at Fairview Terraces:

Ah, a banana rack. Perfect for making your own hanging egg chair for your dolls.

These food picks. They're so cute, they can be used as doll wands or scepters.

I believe this is a bamboo mat used for rolling your own maki, but I thought I could use something like this as a background for my doll scenes.

This pack full of cats. The paint job isn't that good, but they're still cute, and perfect for doll dioramas.

Needles of varying sizes. Perhaps this is handy for rerooting. I don't like rerooting though. It takes so much time.

Window stick memo. I thought these are cute and can be used for doll diorama, but they're flat. This gave me an idea, I can make window treatments on their own, then I can just stick them temporarily to a panel whenever I need a window in the background of my diorama. That might work.

I saw this doll called Pretty Angelia at SM Department Store. Her face is from the Buni dolls I've seen before, and her body is your generic clone Barbie body. I like her hair though. It's a combination of brown and light pink hair. It's pretty cute, and looks silky.

Here's to me making more posts this month. I struggle, but I know I will be able to do it.

A Photo Dump! [Part 11]

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago.

Oh new blind bags from Playmobil. I heard on YouTube that they are quite difficult to assemble at times.

I'm not sure if this is 1:6 scale. It might work?

I bought a DohVinci pack for P200 because I was curious about the airdry playdoh. I have no use for that peace sigh frame thing so I kept it in its packaging, haha. 

I wanted to make doll shoes with DohVinci but my first attempt was a fail. I think I'll be more successful with just plain bathroom tissue paper and water or water/glue mixture. DohVinci is fun though. I'll think of something so I can still use it.

My Daruma doll collection so far. It's not much, but it's fun to collect these because they even don't cost that much when bought secondhand.

Gumby and Little Gumby on his shoulder! These two Gumbies don't look the same though, have you noticed?

My Hiragana fridge magnets, which is not complete, and a movie fridge magnet I won as a prize. 

I found the Hiragana magnets from a Japanese thrift store. If you could read the first two lines on there, you can find Nonde kudasai which means Please drink, and Yaseru, which means to lose weight, haha. I was only able to come up with those things given the limited number of magnets available to me.

I also have a collection of magnets, mainly magnets from different countries, not in photo.

Rocket and Groot in one photo, finally! They are not of the same scale, but hey, Groot is very small in the upcoming movie sequel, okay!

I took a photo of budget Raven Queen because I didn't see her when I took these photos. There are actually more Ever After High dolls available locally now, like the book party dolls, the Dragon Games dolls including the forest pixies, and I even saw extra tall Madeline Hatter! I don't like this doll version of Madeline though because her hair looks so greasy and flat.

The new My Little Pony Equestria Girls minis are out, too. To me they are more adorable than the dolls, haha.

I found this brochure of Brother sewing products at the book store.

I wonder when I can have my own sewing machine. Their cheapest machine costs around P10,000.00. Sigh.

I bought a cheap Vespa scooter for P25. It looks promising.

I took this while waiting at the car wash.

It says on the back that there is assembly required. This is not true. Maybe the original scooter needs assembly, but not this cheap Vespa!

Look, I can even flip the top of the seat up, and the stand at the rear wheel also works! I didn't need to use the mini screw driver or the extra wheels for it. It's good to go as it is!

It lacks a lot of detailed painting, but I'm OK with it. Sadly this is not 1:6 scale. More like 1:12 but I'm pretty pleased with this miniature scooter!

A Photo Dump! [Part 9]

I saw a display of Japan-related knick-knacks at a restaurant franchise called Dohtonbori.

Vintage stuff, I guess.

The usual Japanese style food display shelf. Look at those origami tanuki on the upper right part of the shelf!

A big Daruma, displayed on its own. I want to have a big Daruma like this but I have no place to store it, too bad! I can only collect small ones.

Geisha dolls. Man, I used to have one, but I was too young to appreciate it, so I wasn't able to take care of it very well and preserve it. That's one of my regrets. It was a gift from my father's Japanese colleague.

Some random toys I managed to photograph before I transported them to my new place:

A small astronaut figure from a Chupachups blind capsule. I had to assemble it and add the sticker.

A bootleg Loki mini figure which I was supposed to give to a friend. But we're not friends anymore, so this toy isn't going anywhere.

A McDonald's Super Mario toy. I thrifted the Mario figure and the stand on separate occasions.

Vintage style Goofy and Mickey Mouse gashapon figures. They both have five points of articulation (neck, shoulders, legs).

Took these photos years ago. I think these are terrifying.

The first one is a Kokey doll from a defunct Filipino TV show, and the pink faced doll is his companion. Creepy!

Dolls from my aunt's estate. These came with the Marin Chiclana dolls I photographed previously.

Months ago, when I was still new to doll collecting, I checked out the Monster High shelf at a department store and was just floored by seeing the Werecat twins.

Very expensive dolls even with the discount.

Zombie Shake Rochelle Goy and Venus McFlytrap. I'm not feeling Venus here even though I like zombie dolls.

A random Barbie I Can Be fashion pack on sale. It's cool, but I don't need to buy new Barbie stuff.

I still would like a Mars space suit pack though.

Gloom and Bloom Venus McFlytrap. Pretty sure she was the one that opened my eyes to Monster High.

At first, I really couldn't understand the appeal of Monster High, and how people manage to figure out which doll came from which line when there are TONS of Monster High dolls in the market. Venus here, however, changed my opinion on Monster High dolls. Her dress for Gloom and Bloom somehow brought me to the "dark side". I thought it's a pretty neat looking cocktail dress that I could totally imagine being worn in the real world. And that's how I decided to immerse myself more into the Monster High universe.
