I Finally Found Cat Burglar!!!

I finally have a Cat Burglar doll! I got her on sale for P300! Whew, after 2 years of waiting, hahaha.

Her head is a Skipper face mold.

I take it back, her face is not that bad, as I mentioned in my two-year old post: "kinda meh". Her eyebrows are quite high too. She looks a bit evil, which is how she's perceived to be, haha.

I'm just glad that I finally found her at a price I can afford. Next time, I'll take a photo of her next to my custom Cat Burglar doll

1977 Farrah Fawcett doll by Mego

I found a Farrah Fawcett doll! At first her left arm was missing, but I rummaged through the bins of the thrift store and found her left arm by luck! Without the arm, I could have bought her for P75, but after finding her arm, her price became P100!

Her right arm was actually in tact when I found her but at home, I pulled it out because her joints have melted.

Dried plastic goo all over the joints, yuck! I had to carve the melted plastic with my crafting knife.

I had a difficult time assembling the pieces together, because without the melted plastic, the joints have become loose. I had to use wire to put them together, and even tied garter on her chest area to keep the arms in place.

I love that her head is in good condition. I would have gotten her even without that left arm. Anyway she's such a big woman, I didn't have any clothes that would fit her very well, neither do I have clothes that fit her aesthetic. So I just dressed her up in these hoping she'd look like the type to stay at home, lounge and smoke a cigarette every now and then, lol.

I have this metal stand that came with a photo frame, but the photo frame is now gone. The end of the stand stops right under her butt, making her stand like this, haha.

Her skin has a reddish tone to it, so I wasn't even sure that I could rebody her easily had I only used her head. Her hair is quite unruly but I didn't want to tame it with a doll comb because I'm afraid she'd lose all these lovely curls in the process. I love the volume it has. And she has rooted eyelashes, yaaaas!

In other news, I finally came around to retouching this Mrs. Hearts doll's lips!

I bought her online. I don't remember how much I paid for her, but I thought I had to get her. Her lip paint was actually chipped, and I have only touched it up today, lol.

She has that Steffie sculpt vibe thing going on, even thought she's not at all a Steffie sculpt but an original Hearts Mom sculpt. Actually some of the Mrs. Heart doll versions have the Steffie sculpt, so that might explain the resemblance?

She has a TNT body, but I have clothes that fit the TNT body, so I didn't really have a hard time finding a dress for her.

Toy Story Mini Carry Bag

I found some loose gashapon balls at the toys store.

Oh, these are Toy Story mini carry bags! They look cute! I got one with my membership points.

I opened the capsule and these are what I got. The bag itself, a sticker sheet, a 3d sticker to put on the bag, and a paper insert. I didn't use the 3d sticker on my bag though. I want it as it is.

Too bad it's too small for Lottie! I placed the traincase I got from a different gashapon beside, and there's a difference in the size between the two bags.

The mini carry bag is Kelly sized!! I was a little disappointed, but I can still probably make it work. This can be a carry-on bag for Lottie, right?

That's Tommy, by the way. He is dressed as Mayor Munckin for The Wizard of Oz! I found him at a thrift store and only paid P35.

Doll Impulsions (Part 1)

I really haven't been a good blogger lately, lol, mainly because I'm having difficulty transferring photos from my phone to the computer. So in the mean time, I will do a lot of writing. I still look at dolls online, and sometimes I find things I want to buy but couldn't because I just can't afford to spend at the moment. So I'm starting a series of posts called Doll Impulsions, as a way to curb my spending, hahaha!

Aah! I'm looking at that Hasbro Pocahontas doll, and that tiny Novi Stars doll with multiple arms. I don't want to buy them even though I know that Pocahontas doll is already cheap, and that Novi Stars doll is hard to come by.

This MiWorld OPI set with the tiny nail polish and stuff!! These things would look cute in a diorama, but the rest of the accessories are too tiny for 1:6 scale.

Pinkie Cooper's pet, Li'l Pinkie!! I already have one but it's missing its ears and her scarf.

I don't want to buy this doll, but oh my, look at how big Jessie's eyes are. They are looking into your soul! Haha.

This proud poodle! I like collecting pets, but she's too pricey for me.

This other dog is so cute. She even has a skirt!

This photo is from the seller I transacted with, and I purchased the tall doll from her. It's a Hi:Glamm doll and her name is Kit! I've always been curious with Hi:Glamm dolls and even Leggy dolls from the 70s, so I was glad I found one online for a cheap price.

My friend and I went to this place where there are lot of gardening stuff sold. She bought some tiny stones for her garden, and gave me a small bag of stones for free. It's gonna be perfect for my diorama making!

Descendants, and Project MC2

I've never watched Disney's Descendants at all, but I know that the main characters of the movies are offsprings of famous Disney characters. I've become fond of Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen because she's so pretty.

One time I only had one Evie, now I have two. I've just forgotten to write an entry about the second Evie, lol.

Evie the second (left) looks prettier to me, so even if her hair is unruly, I kept it as it is. Also she came with no hands, so I just gave her plastic ones using this method. Her ballet leotard and tutu are from Ballet Barbara. Barbara has been donated for Christmas, by the way.

She's so pretty. Her face belongs to a Disney princess, I kid you not! I will fix her sometime in the future, haha.

Also, I have two Project MC2 dolls now!!! I got McKeyla (left) first. She had no hands, but like I care. Then a few months after, I got Camryn (right). She has hands, hey! Her head is a little wobbly so I had to stick some foam through her neck hole.

And decluttering update: aside from the two Licca dolls that I managed to sell, I also sold my Birthstone Barbie and Barbie book, and Eloise. I know the people I've sold these items to would love to have them. I'm just at this moment wherein I have to re-focus my hobby. I need to make more time for this blog!

No Lottie diorama for this year. I'm just not inspired to make one right now, even though my miniature Christmas tree is next to my desk, waiting to be used. I'll probably make one, but it won't make it in time for Christmas, lol. I don't care anymore. I'm not going to be punished for posting things late anyway, hahaha.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I Love VIP Pets Nyla

One of my contacts is a toy seller, and one night, she made a Facebook post about a familiar looking toy. Anybody who would be able to identify the toy would get the toy for free. I knew what it was, it was an I Love VIP Pets toy but I had to use Google to figure out the name. It's Nyla! So I left a comment on the post, and I was the first to guess, so I won the toy. After a week, I got the package!

Here is Nyla! Her hair is wild, and she has a stain on her right eyebrow, but no biggie.

I removed her dog body and replaced it with a Breyer doll body. The body came from a veterinarian doll, and the neck knob was too small for her, so I had to thicken it with masking tape and a loom band.

The colour matching is awful, but I don't mind.

I wasn't that patient with her hair though. I only styled the front with braids, then tied everything else in a high ponytail. The rest of hair has too much volume, they can stay up like that without any styling product.

Her ribbon is from a La Dee Da fashion pack. Her dress is from the Sea Monster doll of the Monster High Color Me Creepy set. Her shoes are bootleg Bratz shoes that split in half so even if the shoe shape is not the best for her, she can still slip her feet in there. I secured the shoes with loom bands because they do come apart easily. The shoes give her extra height, haha.

Because the joints of the body are too loose, she is not able to sit up right all the time. I have to pose her with her legs wide open and her hands supporting her from the back, if I want her to sit nicely.

I now have two I Love VIP Pets hybrids; the first one is Dakota, which also has a Breyer doll body! They have yet to meet. SOON!

Miniature Jukeboxes

I got myself some miniature jukeboxes!

The one on the left is a replica of a Wurlitzer jukebox, while the other one is an AMI 200. Both mini jukeboxes are battery operated (requires 3 AA batteries), and light up and play one song for a minute! I filmed some videos:

This one plays Only You by The Platters.

This other one plays Diana by Paul Anka.

These jukeboxes are not the right scale for my Lottie dolls, or are they? In any case, I know I can wing it when I finally take diorama pictures!

Dolly Finds and Lottie's World: Forest Friend Lottie

I swear, when I'm out by myself, I look for miniature items or things that I can use for my dolls. In this blog post, I found three things.

This display case with a clock! I thought it would be a nice backdrop for a fashion or tourist photo shoot. It was really heavy, and quite pricey for my budget so I didn't get it. But if I get motivated, I could totally craft one.

A laptop spotlight! It would probably look great on a photo shoot doll scenario. It's something you have to plug to a computer though so I don't think I could use it for my own shoots, and I decided not to get it. I don't need my laptop to occupy my desk just so I could turn this thing on.

This one, I did get though. It's a fairy door set! I didn't even know such thing exists until I looked it up online. There are actually people who purchase this stuff so they could decorate their house with a fairy door. Amazing!

The box is heavy, and the door is actually made of concrete or something. It sure is solid!

I later found out that the door is too short for Lottie, boo!! But I just had to use it as a prop so I just made adjustments for the photo shoot!

Here is my new Lottie doll, Forest Friend! She's a gift I received from the Lottie team for joining their Instagram takeover! Thank you, Lottie Dolls! She's so cute!

I found a white polka-dotted hard green felt, and I thought it would look nice together with the pink door! It totally worked!

This is the first time I used the orange plastic flowers I bought from the department store. They are cheap and just the right size for my doll photos!

I was experimenting with the light, by the way, so I have similar photos but the shadows and lighting are quite different!

I had a miniature cactus, which I thought would look cute on Lottie's lap!

Here's how my set looked like. On the photos you couldn't see the grass on the ground. That's because I didn't want to show the box I used to raise the door higher so that it would fit Lottie. It would have been really nice if the door's size was a perfect fit. I would have had more fun taking photos.

In other news, I got a new secondhand doll, by the way, lol. It's Mrs. Heart from the Barbie Heart family. She has a unique looking face mould! I still have to work on her hair, and her lip paint has been scratched off so I have to do some repaint as well.

And I'm not sure if it's pushing through but a relative coming home from Canada bought me a gift: it's Lucky from the Spirit Riding Free doll line! I'm so excited to get her, if I do get her, lol, because she's articulated and we don't have Spirit Riding Free here in the Philippines!! Fingers crossed!
