Jianidi Doll on Sale

So I went to the toy section at my local SM department store and saw this display of Jianidi dolls: Girl Feelings... dun dun dun... with the orange tag.

Man, why would you do this to me, SM??? You know I've been looking at these dolls for so long but resisted, and now you put it on sale...

Jianidi's articulation is pretty sweet. They even have ankle joints. And their dress is pretty. I particularly like... hmm, I actually never thought about that. Perhaps the yellow or orange skirt, but I do not mind getting the other two...

What am I saying?? I already vowed to stay off of buying dolls these days, particularly Barbie. And I think I'm done buying Monster High dolls, too. Not because I hate them now; it's just that I have to focus on fixing them, styling them, photographing them, and displaying them. I don't have to get more because I have lot of work cut out for me.

But yeah, if you're looking for a very pale Barbie-like doll with sweet articulation, this is it!

Meanwhile, I found new dolls at the toy aisle.

These Barbie clone dolls are called Glamorous Sariel. Their face sculpt really looks good. If you inspect their legs in this type of box, you could see that they have decent legs, not chopsticks-thin at all.

I like the purple dress on the doll on the left. Not sure if they have decent legs as well because I couldn't see past their skirt.

Had to crop this because I just realised that my face is shown on the packaging, LOL!!

This doll has very thin limbs, so the quality of the doll does vary, I guess. Anyway, I recognise the design of that dress. I have one and it's from Barbie Endless Curls.

Here is a comparison I made.

The copy is so bad, it hurts.

I end this post with these odd-looking pens...

Doll similarities

I see some resemblance. I'm not sure if you see it, too.

When I saw this photo of Bratz Catz Sasha, I really liked it, but it reminded me of another doll.

It reminded me of Clawdeen Wolf from the Sweet 1600 line. But if it could be because of the tuxedo top. Sasha isn't wearing a tuxedo but she has a bow tie and her top is black and white so it did give me some tuxedo vibe. Both dolls are super cute too. I would love to have a complete Bratz Catz Sasha doll.

Also this version of Clawdeen is like a nod to American singer named Janelle Monae because she wears a lot of tuxedos.

Since I've been on a Jem and The Holograms kick lately, I browsed this website called Rock Jem and checked out all the 1986 Hasbro dolls. One of their pages are dolls that look similar to the Jem and The Holograms line and Monster High was mentioned. Operetta was singled out too because her look resembles Kimber Benton!

Haha isn't that nice. But I like Operetta. She's the first Monster High doll I got!

I added the Tonner doll on the left for this comparison.

Speaking of Monster High, have a look at Gigi Grant from the 13 Wishes line. Doesn't her outfit look a bit like Synergy's?

Pic from Constantine Hannaher
Those sleeves! The black fabric below the sleeves! The gold detailing! The boots!

The similarity of how the sleeves were cut is suspicious!

And for the last comparison... I saw this Kenya's World doll (Beverly Hills) on a doll blog and thought SHE LOOKS SO FAMILIAR. WHERE DID I SEE THIS OUTFIT BEFORE??

Then I made a trip to the toy store and found this.

Oh man... Everything was copied!

Doll hunting (Authentic and Bootleg dolls!)

Some photos of dolls while I was out and about:

Rochelle Goyle from the Monster High Freak Du Chic playset!

Monster High Adult Collector Draculaura! I don't know how to feel about all the embroidery, to be honest. And her inset eyes are unsettling to me, I don't know why. (/Oops those eyes are just painted, not inset. The painting style fooled me, ha!)

A bootleg Ever After High Madeline Hatter! Me not like! It's not articulated very well!

Bootleg Ever After High Raven Queen and *fake surprise* Madeline Hatter.

Another bootleg Ever After High Madeline Hatter and Apple White.

A bootleg Bratz doll with masks.

A big-headed doll from a doll line called Belle. I was thinking of getting this one because it's fully articulated and the big head is quite amusing.

A birthday party set from the Belle doll line again. I think the package is full of crap because it's mostly paper. In reality, you're only getting a few items from the box.

This is what I'd like to call a deluxe birthday party set from Belle again. You're getting some balloons, a birthday cake and a slice of cake in this set.

WOW bootleg Cutie Pops. I didn't even think they'd be copied too! I don't plan to buy this because it's expensive for a bootleg and this is such a top-heavy doll. If it doesn't come with a stand, it's going to be a challenge to display them specially if they are wearing a great free-flowing dress!

Bratz Kidz, and Rapunzel mini doll

I thrifted these two dolls on separate occasions.

This Bratz Kidz doll that just confuses me...

I can't identify this doll. Also I find it strange that it has no articulation in the body at all!

I bought this doll for P20 from a street vendor outside the Quezon City hall.

Her hair is very thick though so that's cool. I've started painting it with a base coat. I'm not done with the repaint yet!

And here is Rapunzel from the Disney Tangled Ever After exclusive mini princess doll set. Her right leg is about to come off and she has bite marks on her legs and hands. She's almost the same size as my Dawn doll so I thought it's cool that Dawn will have a companion very soon when I'm done fixing Rapunzel. I actually hot glued her right hip joint so her right leg is stuck in that position forever. It's OK because I just plan to display her as a mannequin anyway.

Finally seeing the new Bratz 2015 dolls

I finally saw the new Bratz line at my local Toys 'R Us. I examined every doll in the shelf and picked a favourite. For #Selfiesnaps it's still Cloe with her pink hair and pink shoes, but my new favourite would have to Study Abroad Jade to Russia! You have to see her in person to find out how adorable she is!

What drew me in to this doll is her huge ushanka (fur hat with ear flaps), her long black hair, her embroidered top with fringe, and her very long boots! I know, I know, in my previous post about Bratz, I did complain about Bratz's huge and ridiculous looking feet, but Jade's boots just compliment her style here. I just find it really cute.

Bratz 2015 Selfie Snaps Yasmin and Cloe

I finally saw the new Bratz dolls in-store and they're cute! (But nope, I didn't buy them.)

I only saw Yasmin and Cloe.

Here's Yasmin:

I have to say, in the box the bird bag really stood out for me. It is so cute! Next are Yasmin's feet/shoes. Bratz dolls have pegged feet, and I really don't like that because if you lost the shoes, you end up with the doll having no feet and it's just inconvenient. Anyway, Yasmin's feet look so big! This doll truly has an odd body proportion.

Here's Cloe:

Cloe's really cute here. I love the pink hair and I think her faceup is adorable. I see a lot of old Bratz dolls in this thrift store I go to and they all have their lips lined with a colour that is different from their lipstick shade, and that's just... how do I say this... chola style? It just doesn't work for me.

Her eyeglasses? Love it. It's so cute. I wish to see her wearing it, but of course I can't try it on her, haha.

Her boots are adorable, too. Never mind that that they are oversized. I just look at her shoes as chunky platforms. At least her feet are "hidden" and I can still imagine them being regular sized unlike Yasmin's feet.

These dolls have so many accessories. It's such a shame that Monster High dolls don't come with as much accessories.

Bratz Fashion Pixiez Pixie Friends

I found these two at a thrift store but I didn't get them because the cashier was asking for P65 per doll. NO.

When I looked this up, I found out that these aren't standalone dolls. They're actually companion pixie friends for Bratz Fashion Pixiez dolls. Here are pics of the Yasmin and Cloe dolls with their respective pixie friends:

I think the small dolls are more interesting than the regular dolls in this line. I particularly like their painted legs.

Speaking of Bratz, I found this at our garage:

See, my stepmom sends care packages from America and at one point she sent some secondhand toys to my niece who used to live here at home. I think this is her reject? Haha.

I found out that the head is from a Bratz Babyz Mermaidz doll.

Lots of Z's on the name, eh? But the body is not original. It says "Toy Century" on the back. I think it must be from a tiny vinyl doll similar to these:

I transplanted the head to a headless doll body (a knockoff Barbie) but the neck hole of the head just isn't a good fit to the neck of the body at all. I just used another doll body, this time a Barbie, and with its plastic peg missing.

Betty Boop, is that you???!

The skin tones do not match but I don't care anymore!

I also cleaned, brushed and curled the hair because it was so messy and awful. This is the best I could do without using boiling water.

The blue dress is from a Disney Cinderella doll made by Simba Toys.

Pic from Ebay

I actually have the doll. It's another one of those dolls in the care package. I figured I could part ways with the blue dress because I plan to customise the doll anyway, so off with the dress!

I'll give away this doll with a new head to another niece.
