Lottie's World: Happy New Year!

I took photos of my two Lottie dolls for this project, but I've encountered a technical difficulty. Turns out that my iPhone won't connect to my computer, so I can't transfer my photos just yet, until I activate iCloud, and that might take a while because... reasons.

Anyway, I used a different phone for this photo. I'm still getting used to this phone.

This is Good Fortune Lottie, here to make your 2018 prosperous, LOL!!!

This is my first time to spend New Year's Eve alone. I have a lot of things to keep me busy, so it's all good.

Marvel Fan Girl dolls

I heard about these dolls a while back, but I never paid that much attention to it. They're called Marvel Fan Girl dolls; fashion dolls that have been inspired by Marvel characters.

In this collection, the character inspirations are Black Panther, Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman, and Black Widow.

I was really drawn by the Captain America doll because of the striped skirt! It looks like a candy cane! And the up do hairstyle looks really nice. What if someone's bold enough to wear this outfit to prom? It might work, right? I mean, kids these days will try anything...

Now I want my own customised doll like this, lol. It looks DIY-able, yeah?

At My Grandmother's House

Every year, I spend my Christmas Eve at my grandmother's house. But it was only this year that I snooped around to pass time, and checked out my grandma's odd collection of toys and memorabilia.

These rubber dogs that would probably look better when cleaned.

This broken Towering Rescue LCD card game. 80's, man!!

This vintage tin car with Mickey Mouse on it.

This Rubix cube with fruits on each square.

This poor doll made in Hong Kong. I was tempted to sneak her out of the house and bring her home so that I could clean her. She has seen better days.

This other vintage doll, but I don't think it's for playing. It's meant to be a decor instead.

And these two miniature phones.

Turns out that these are Acme fridge magnets. Really cool! I wanted to touch and inspect them, but they were in a glass cabinet, and I didn't want to be obnoxious and ask my grandmother's permission to get stuff like this out of storage. She's an old woman. I don't want to give her any trouble.

Here's to hoping I'd be more active in 2018, lol!!!

Descendants, and Project MC2

I've never watched Disney's Descendants at all, but I know that the main characters of the movies are offsprings of famous Disney characters. I've become fond of Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen because she's so pretty.

One time I only had one Evie, now I have two. I've just forgotten to write an entry about the second Evie, lol.

Evie the second (left) looks prettier to me, so even if her hair is unruly, I kept it as it is. Also she came with no hands, so I just gave her plastic ones using this method. Her ballet leotard and tutu are from Ballet Barbara. Barbara has been donated for Christmas, by the way.

She's so pretty. Her face belongs to a Disney princess, I kid you not! I will fix her sometime in the future, haha.

Also, I have two Project MC2 dolls now!!! I got McKeyla (left) first. She had no hands, but like I care. Then a few months after, I got Camryn (right). She has hands, hey! Her head is a little wobbly so I had to stick some foam through her neck hole.

And decluttering update: aside from the two Licca dolls that I managed to sell, I also sold my Birthstone Barbie and Barbie book, and Eloise. I know the people I've sold these items to would love to have them. I'm just at this moment wherein I have to re-focus my hobby. I need to make more time for this blog!

No Lottie diorama for this year. I'm just not inspired to make one right now, even though my miniature Christmas tree is next to my desk, waiting to be used. I'll probably make one, but it won't make it in time for Christmas, lol. I don't care anymore. I'm not going to be punished for posting things late anyway, hahaha.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I Love VIP Pets Nyla

One of my contacts is a toy seller, and one night, she made a Facebook post about a familiar looking toy. Anybody who would be able to identify the toy would get the toy for free. I knew what it was, it was an I Love VIP Pets toy but I had to use Google to figure out the name. It's Nyla! So I left a comment on the post, and I was the first to guess, so I won the toy. After a week, I got the package!

Here is Nyla! Her hair is wild, and she has a stain on her right eyebrow, but no biggie.

I removed her dog body and replaced it with a Breyer doll body. The body came from a veterinarian doll, and the neck knob was too small for her, so I had to thicken it with masking tape and a loom band.

The colour matching is awful, but I don't mind.

I wasn't that patient with her hair though. I only styled the front with braids, then tied everything else in a high ponytail. The rest of hair has too much volume, they can stay up like that without any styling product.

Her ribbon is from a La Dee Da fashion pack. Her dress is from the Sea Monster doll of the Monster High Color Me Creepy set. Her shoes are bootleg Bratz shoes that split in half so even if the shoe shape is not the best for her, she can still slip her feet in there. I secured the shoes with loom bands because they do come apart easily. The shoes give her extra height, haha.

Because the joints of the body are too loose, she is not able to sit up right all the time. I have to pose her with her legs wide open and her hands supporting her from the back, if I want her to sit nicely.

I now have two I Love VIP Pets hybrids; the first one is Dakota, which also has a Breyer doll body! They have yet to meet. SOON!

A Gift!

I just want to say thanks to Melissa of http://mythriftydollection.blogspot.com/ who was very kind to send me this package! I really appreciate it!

A Lottie Boogie Boarder accessory pack, two Barbie dresses, a bunch of My Mini Mixie Qs and a pair of Twozies! Finally! The Mixie Qs and Twozies are so expensive here, so I was really surprised to get these, wow.

I haven't found time to take photos of the clothes and toys with my dolls yet, but I'll come around. I'm just very hopeful, hehe.

Miniature Jukeboxes

I got myself some miniature jukeboxes!

The one on the left is a replica of a Wurlitzer jukebox, while the other one is an AMI 200. Both mini jukeboxes are battery operated (requires 3 AA batteries), and light up and play one song for a minute! I filmed some videos:

This one plays Only You by The Platters.

This other one plays Diana by Paul Anka.

These jukeboxes are not the right scale for my Lottie dolls, or are they? In any case, I know I can wing it when I finally take diorama pictures!

Goodbye, Twins!

It was just time to go...

These two girls now have a new mother. And I'm happy that their new mother loves them.

She gave them a bath. They badly need it because when I sent them away, their face and legs were kinda dirty.

So long, my dear twins!

Lottie's World: My Comeback?

Wow, I wrote my last post two months ago! That's crazy!

I haven't really done anything doll-related that I could consider blog-worthy, I guess. I've taken some photos of toys during my strolls but I haven't found time and the effort to post them all. I will get around to it!

Here's something I came up with. I'm just out of it, for the most part, but I've been thinking about this scene because I found another Breyer doll that I could steal clothes from, lol. But too bad, I don't have a toy horse. That would have been a great prop. I found a toy horse at the mall, but it was too expensive, and I haven't really been looking out for a suitable horse at the thrift store either. Anyway...

I'm not really proud of this. I think I could do better because the backdrop looks dull, and the photo doesn't tell a story. Lottie's just standing here, hanging out, but what's the point? I guess the idea was far better in my head than when I executed it. Oh well. I'm going to be more forgiving because I'm rusty.

Oh and I finally was able to use that miniature wheelbarrow I found! It's too small for Lottie, but I don't care. I have to use it!

And I received a notice from the post office a week ago. I think the mail I've been waiting for for months has finally arrived. I'll pick it up soon, I promise!

I will come back!!! I can do this!

Dolly Finds and Lottie's World: Forest Friend Lottie

I swear, when I'm out by myself, I look for miniature items or things that I can use for my dolls. In this blog post, I found three things.

This display case with a clock! I thought it would be a nice backdrop for a fashion or tourist photo shoot. It was really heavy, and quite pricey for my budget so I didn't get it. But if I get motivated, I could totally craft one.

A laptop spotlight! It would probably look great on a photo shoot doll scenario. It's something you have to plug to a computer though so I don't think I could use it for my own shoots, and I decided not to get it. I don't need my laptop to occupy my desk just so I could turn this thing on.

This one, I did get though. It's a fairy door set! I didn't even know such thing exists until I looked it up online. There are actually people who purchase this stuff so they could decorate their house with a fairy door. Amazing!

The box is heavy, and the door is actually made of concrete or something. It sure is solid!

I later found out that the door is too short for Lottie, boo!! But I just had to use it as a prop so I just made adjustments for the photo shoot!

Here is my new Lottie doll, Forest Friend! She's a gift I received from the Lottie team for joining their Instagram takeover! Thank you, Lottie Dolls! She's so cute!

I found a white polka-dotted hard green felt, and I thought it would look nice together with the pink door! It totally worked!

This is the first time I used the orange plastic flowers I bought from the department store. They are cheap and just the right size for my doll photos!

I was experimenting with the light, by the way, so I have similar photos but the shadows and lighting are quite different!

I had a miniature cactus, which I thought would look cute on Lottie's lap!

Here's how my set looked like. On the photos you couldn't see the grass on the ground. That's because I didn't want to show the box I used to raise the door higher so that it would fit Lottie. It would have been really nice if the door's size was a perfect fit. I would have had more fun taking photos.

In other news, I got a new secondhand doll, by the way, lol. It's Mrs. Heart from the Barbie Heart family. She has a unique looking face mould! I still have to work on her hair, and her lip paint has been scratched off so I have to do some repaint as well.

And I'm not sure if it's pushing through but a relative coming home from Canada bought me a gift: it's Lucky from the Spirit Riding Free doll line! I'm so excited to get her, if I do get her, lol, because she's articulated and we don't have Spirit Riding Free here in the Philippines!! Fingers crossed!

Muddy Puddles' Adventure

When I took these photos, Muddy Puddles Lottie was still a new doll in my collection. I wasn't that familiar with her face yet, so I thought I didn't photograph her that well. I'll improve, for sure.

I brought her at my family's ancestral house. It is abandoned, and needed some TLC.

Oh, a jackfruit! It was still unripe for picking.

Muddy Puddles found my late grandfather's car. It was very dusty, but she didn't mind. She wrote her name on the dusty windshield.
