So I fixed the Ari Roma doll I thrifted and gave her new arms courtesy of a knockoff Barbie body I have at home.
Here is the before pic:
And here are pics after the transplant:

I removed the forearms from a donor body using a handsaw I bought at Daiso. I didn't cut at the exact length because I had to make an allowance for the pegs for both limbs. I carved a peg on each arm with a craft knife and thank goodness, the arms are not hollow or made of hard plastic or else I would have had a difficult time figuring out what to do next.
Then I applied a first coat on both arms with purple acrylic paint, then used Mod Podge to glue down the purple glitter and seal it afterwards.
Look, I can only twist the arms arounds but it's going to stay up like that forever, but it isn't a big deal because it looks like Ari is striking a pose anyway.
I didn't cut off the pinkies anymore because the hands look fine with five fingers.
Amazing, very creative, and patient! Is that her original stand?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNope, the original stand is a moon shaped stand that fits the holes of her boots, which I didn't find in the thrift store. I used a paper spike as a replacement stand.
