Novi Stars Ari Roma arm transplant

So I fixed the Ari Roma doll I thrifted and gave her new arms courtesy of a knockoff Barbie body I have at home.

Here is the before pic:

And here are pics after the transplant:

*Red Ranger in the background. I painted the silicone balls on his hands white already.

I removed the forearms from a donor body using a handsaw I bought at Daiso. I didn't cut at the exact length because I had to make an allowance for the pegs for both limbs. I carved a peg on each arm with a craft knife and thank goodness, the arms are not hollow or made of hard plastic or else I would have had a difficult time figuring out what to do next.

Then I applied a first coat on both arms with purple acrylic paint, then used Mod Podge to glue down the purple glitter and seal it afterwards.

Look, I can only twist the arms arounds but it's going to stay up like that forever, but it isn't a big deal because it looks like Ari is striking a pose anyway.

I didn't cut off the pinkies anymore because the hands look fine with five fingers.

  1. Amazing, very creative, and patient! Is that her original stand?

    1. Thank you!

Nope, the original stand is a moon shaped stand that fits the holes of her boots, which I didn't find in the thrift store. I used a paper spike as a replacement stand.
